Summary

This position is located in the Human Resources Division, Arlington, VA. The selectee of this position serves as a Employee Health Programs Manager. You will be responsible for directing and managing the USMS Employee Medical, Fitness-for-Duty, Workers Compensation, and the Drug Free Workplace Programs.

Duties

As a Employee Health Programs Manager at the GS-0601-14 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: - Exercises full supervisory responsibility over subordinate positions. - Develops and implements health/medical program policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all Federal, Department of Justice (DOJ), and USMS regulations. - Providing expert advice and guidance to agency management on the Employee Medical Programs, Fitness for-Duty, Limited Duty, Drug Free Workplace and Workers Compensation Program issues. - Continually appraises the assigned programs to ascertain if they are operating effectively and efficiently, and, if necessary, effects changes and improvements. Requirements

Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. Verify Registration here. Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Must be able to obtain and maintain a Moderate background investigation.

Qualifications and evaluation

Without this documentation, you will not receive veteran's preference and your application will be evaluated based on the material(s) submitted. If you are claiming 10-point veterans' preference based on service-connected disability, in addition to the DD214 or certification requirements (see above bullet), you must also submit an SF-15 Application for 10-point Veterans' Preference, plus the proof of entitlement of this preference which is normally an official statement, dated 1991 or later, from the Department of Veterans Affairs certifying to the present existence of the service-connected disability and indicating the percentage of your disability.
