A career within RSM’s Corporate Tax services will provide you with the opportunity to help our public and private multinational corporate tax clients meet their accounting for income tax reporting requirements and income tax consulting and complianceĀ obligations,Ā while managing the impact tax has on their business.Ā You’llĀ advise clients on their tax strategy using both your industry experience and technicalĀ expertiseĀ with a cross functional team, while delivering a customized technology-enabled service delivery model toĀ facilitateĀ better decision making in achieving our clients’ strategicĀ objectives.Ā

As a Tax Manager for RSM you willĀ be responsible forĀ the following job duties which are focused around three core concepts (Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development):Ā 

Ā 

  • Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest andĀ timelyĀ performance feedback – approximately 10- 20%Ā of yourĀ timeĀ 

  • Train and develop staff members – approximately 10-20% of yourĀ timeĀ 

  • Provide detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns – approximately upĀ to 35% of yourĀ timeĀ 

  • Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner toĀ facilitateĀ communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and theĀ firmĀ 

  • Serve as the Tax client service coordinator forĀ appropriateĀ clientsĀ 

  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and general mergers and acquisitionsĀ activitiesĀ 

  • Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professionalĀ standardsĀ 

  • AssistĀ with new business development, extendedĀ serviceĀ and tax issue recognition for existingĀ clientsĀ 

  • Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal andĀ stateĀ taxĀ complianceĀ 

  • RemainĀ up-to-dateĀ on current tax practices and changes in tax lawĀ 

  • Other duties asĀ assignedĀ 

  • Some travel may beĀ requiredĀ

Basic Qualifications:Ā 

  • BA/BS Degree – preferably inĀ AccountingĀ or related field of studyĀ 

  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EAĀ 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experienceĀ working with C Corp clientsĀ inĀ publicĀ accountingĀ 

  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxesĀ in accordance withĀ ASC 740Ā 

  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and complianceĀ 

  • Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax serviceĀ requirementsĀ 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skillsĀ

Preferred Qualifications:Ā 

  • IndustryĀ specialization a plusĀ 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasksĀ simultaneouslyĀ 

  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters aĀ plusĀ 

  • Fluent inĀ French(Francais),Ā German(Deutsch), Japanese(ę—„ęœ¬čŖž) or Mandarin(ę™®é€ščÆ) to include but not limited to speaking,Ā writingĀ and reading with a deep understanding of the culture and business practices within country of fluencyĀ 

  • ProvenĀ track recordĀ of managing relationships with largeĀ non USĀ companies with significant operations in North AmericaĀ

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $180,400

IndividualsĀ selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
