2027 Summer Intern - Operations & Resiliency - Sophomore Intern

Program Description: 

 The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship gives undergraduate sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution. Through dynamic, project-based work assignments and professional development activities, students get: 

• A cohort-based learning model with a strong sense of community 

• Real-world experience that helps them build strong skills and knowledge in their area of interest

• An experienced professional mentor to support them throughout the program 

• Access to learning events with senior leaders from the New York Fed, giving them direct insight into the public service and financial services world 

Sophomore interns work in one specific business area or function for ten weeks and have access to opportunities for collaboration with other students and employees from around the Bank.  

At the end of the program, students leave with strong skills, professional connections, and meaningful experiences that will support them in their long-term careers. 

Our Unique Work: 

• The Operations and Resiliency Group operates and oversees payments system processing for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.  This group includes the Bank’s Cash and Custody, Law Enforcement Unit, and Business Continuity and Resiliency Teams, and serves as the New York Administrative function for the Federal Reserve Financial Services. The group is dedicated to strengthening, supporting, and ensuring the resiliency of many of the Bank’s essential on-site operations. 

How You’ll Make an Impact as an Operations and Resiliency Intern (Sophomore) 

• Strong Academic Record:  Evidence of excellent academic performance.  

• Passion for Data Analysis:  A keen interest in analyzing date to drive insights and decisions.  

• High Interest in Business Operations, Banking or Economics:  A demonstrated enthusiasm for these areas.  

• Commitment to Public Service:  A passion for contributing to the public good through their work.  

• Detail Oriented:  Strong interpersonal and written communication skills 

• Technical Proficiency:  Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Acrobat general use of AI technology (including prompting) 

• Team Player: Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
