Medtronic Surgical is hiring a Sr. Hardware EngineerĀ toĀ play a key role in the development and sustainment of capital equipment platforms, includingĀ electrosurgicalĀ generator systems.Ā

WhatĀ YouāllĀ DoĀ
Key responsibilities include:Ā
Lead the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of complex digital hardware and circuit boardsĀ
DriveĀ board designĀ projectsĀ through completion, verification, and integrationĀ
Conduct hardware research, design, development, and testing of electrical components and systemsĀ
Develop technical specifications and ensure hardware reliability and performanceĀ
Analyze hardware configurations and verify designs meet system and regulatory requirementsĀ
Collaborate withĀ crossāfunctionalĀ partners including systems engineering, manufacturing, regulatory, and marketingĀ
ProvideĀ handsāonĀ lab support for prototypes, troubleshooting, and production hardwareĀ
Approximately āÆ20% of this roleāÆwill focus onāÆcomponentĀ library management, including:Ā
Building schematic symbols and PCB footprintsĀ
Maintaining and improving the electricalĀ componentĀ library forĀ ECAD toolsĀ
EnsuringĀ componentĀ data integrity and standards complianceĀ
Supporting efficient hardware development through library quality and reuseĀ
MinimumĀ Requirements (Must Have)Ā
BachelorāsĀ in Electrical EngineeringĀ orĀ Electrical-ComputerĀ Engineering, plus:Ā
4 years related work experience OR Masterās degreeĀ with 2+ years of relevant experienceĀ Ā
Preferred QualificationsĀ
Experience withāÆdigital hardware designĀ
Experience with PCB design tools such as āÆCadence OrCAD, Allegro, or AltiumĀ
Experience working in complex hardware systems orĀ multiāboardĀ architecturesĀ
Familiarity with regulated product development environments (medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.)Ā
Experience withĀ componentĀ libraries orĀ ECAD library managementĀ
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines and cross functional teams.Ā
Strong troubleshooting skills in a lab environmentĀ
Ā
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
