Our client is seeking a Sales Engineer to support and expand business within the Pittsburgh and Eastern Ohio manufacturing market. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on finishing experience who understand the challenges faced in manufacturing environments and can translate technical processes into customer solutions.
The Sales Engineer will work directly with manufacturing customers to evaluate finishing needs, recommend equipment and process improvements, and support projects from initial consultation through implementation. This position requires strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and technical recommendations.
- Manage sales activities using CRM tools and Microsoft Office.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer demonstrations.
- Develop new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
- Stay current on industry trends, finishing technologies, and competitive offerings.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct customer visits, facility walk-throughs, equipment demonstrations, and technical presentations.
- Identify manufacturing challenges and recommend appropriate finishing solutions, equipment, and process improvements.
- Build strong relationships with manufacturing engineers, plant managers, operations leaders, production supervisors, and purchasing teams.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- All education levels will beΒ considered.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility with an in-house finishing department or job shop.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, finishing operations, equipment sales, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Abrasive Blasting Equipment and Processes, Vibratory Finishing Systems, Surface Preparation, Deburring and Polishing Operations, Metal Finishing Processes, and Industrial Finishing Equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Technical or engineering-related training or certifications.
- Existing relationships within the regional manufacturing community.
- Knowledge of process improvement, production efficiency, and manufacturing workflows.
- Background in a finishing company, job shop, or manufacturing operation with finishing processes.
- Experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, or similar role with customer interaction and exposure to finishing processes.
