Who are we looking for?

 

As a Senior Project Manager with GHD FIRST, you will lead environmental emergency response, investigation, remediation, and preparedness projects for some of North America's largest industrial, railroad, pipeline, energy, and manufacturing clients.

This role is ideal for an experienced environmental consultant who thrives in a client-facing environment and enjoys managing complex projects, mentoring staff, developing business opportunities, and solving challenging environmental and operational issues. You will be responsible for project delivery, client relationship management, business development, financial performance, and multidisciplinary team coordination while supporting emergency response and remediation efforts throughout the United States.

The successful candidate will have experience managing projects for private-sector clients including railroads, pipeline operators, manufacturers, chemical facilities, energy companies, and other industrial organizations. This opportunity can be based out of most GHD offices within the United States.

  • Digital Technology/ Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Services

  • Crisis Communication and Community Engagement 
  • Litigation Support

GHD has more than 100 offices across North America with over 200 staff trained in emergency response and emergency management procedures. Listed below is a management role currently open to grow and further develop the GHD FIRST business sector within GHD. 

Responsibilities of the position will be but are not limited to:

  • ·  Manage environmental assessment, remediation, restoration, compliance, and emergency response projects from proposal through completion. 

  • · Serve as the primary point of contact for industrial and private-sector clients during emergency response, environmental investigation, and remediation activities. 

  • · Lead all aspects of project delivery including scope, schedule, budget, forecasting, invoicing, reporting, quality management, and client communication. 

  • · Develop project strategies, scopes of work, cost estimates, remedial approaches, and technical work plans that align with client objectives and regulatory requirements. 

  • · Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams including remediation specialists, industrial hygienists, toxicologists, risk assessors, engineers, GIS professionals, and construction managers. 

  • · Support regulatory engagement, corrective action planning, site closure strategies, and long-term environmental liability management. 

  • · Prepare and review technical correspondence, proposals, reports, specifications, and environmental deliverables. 

  • · Lead and mentor ER&P and environmental professionals while supporting staff development and training. 

  • · Conduct and oversee environmental sampling, monitoring, and field investigations consistent with established procedures and regulatory requirements. 

  • · Identify and pursue business development opportunities, support proposal development, and expand existing client relationships. 

  • · Represent GHD through industry conferences, client meetings, speaking engagements, and regional business development activities. 

  • · Support emergency response readiness and be available for after-hours response activities and travel throughout the United States as needed. 

  • ·  Collaborate closely with GHD subject matter experts and other business groups to deliver integrated client solutions.

What you will bring to the team:

  • ·  5-15+ years of consulting project management experience involving environmental investigation, remediation, emergency response, compliance, and industrial environmental projects. 

  • · Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field. 

  • · Demonstrated experience managing environmental remediation and assessment projects under state and federal regulatory programs. 

  • · Experience supporting private-sector industrial clients, including rail, pipeline, manufacturing, chemical, energy, or similar industries. 

  • · Experience managing project financial performance including budgets, forecasting, contracting, change management, and client invoicing. 

  • · Experience managing subcontractors, field teams, and remediation contractors. 

  • · Experience responding to environmental emergencies and supporting drills, exercises, and tactical planning efforts. 

  • · Strong client relationship management and business development skills with a proven ability to grow and maintain client accounts. 

  • · Knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, state remediation programs, PHMSA requirements, and environmental compliance frameworks. 

  • · Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and deliver effective client presentations. 

  • · Experience with emergency preparedness, ICS, environmental sampling, air monitoring, SCAT, and field response operations. 

  • · Experience supporting railroad and pipeline incidents preferred. 

  • ·  Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and project teams.

  • Paid time off – Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
  • Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
  • Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement  program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices

 

Salary Range: $90,375.00 - $150,625.00 based on experience and location.
