The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation division. Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.

The Senior Manufacturing Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership for manufacturing test systems, electrical troubleshooting, process improvement, and product quality initiatives. This role serves as a key technical resource supporting production, new product introductions, and continuous improvement efforts while driving manufacturing excellence through data-driven problem solving and engineering best practices.

This is a fully on-site role; remote work is not available.

What You'll Work On

  • Lead electrical failure analysis and root cause investigations for products, assemblies, and test systems to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze PCB schematics, layouts, component-level designs, and manufacturing processes to troubleshoot product and process-related issues.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing test strategies, procedures, fixtures, and automated test equipment to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Design and implement test plans, including protocol development, custom tooling and fixture design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of manufacturing and test data to identify trends, drive process improvements, and improve product reliability and yield.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by developing manufacturing test solutions and ensuring design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) requirements are met.
  • Modify, maintain, and improve manufacturing test platforms, including both hardware and software components.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and support production objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, first-pass yield, equipment uptime, and cost reduction.
  • Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, validation protocols, work instructions, and engineering change documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians while providing technical leadership on manufacturing and test-related projects.
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project updates effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Minimal travel required (approximately 5-10%)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Bio Medical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit design, PCB schematics, and electronic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience developing, supporting, and optimizing manufacturing test systems and automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with data analysis, root cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in C# programming and Visual Studio development environment.
  • Experience documenting engineering investigations, test procedures, validation activities, and technical reports.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with BLE, wireless communication systems, RF testing, and associated test equipment.
  • Experience with AOI systems, including Cognex vision system programming, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and process validation methodologies.
  • Experience with SQL databases and manufacturing data systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming, industrial automation, and machine controls.
  • Familiarity with Medical Device Quality Systems and regulatory requirements, including FDA, IEC, ISO 13485, UL, and CE standards.
  • Experience supporting NPI, process development, and manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00
