Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals for commercial electrical and low-voltage construction projects.
This role is responsible for performing quantity takeoffs, reviewing project plans and specifications, evaluating subcontractor and vendor pricing, and supporting the development of accurate project estimates. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, electrical construction knowledge, and experience working in a deadline-driven estimating environment.

Responsibilities:
Estimating & Cost Analysis
- Maintain organized estimating documentation and project records.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using electronic takeoff software.
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical and low-voltage projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify project scope, requirements, risks, and opportunities.
Vendor & Subcontractor Management
- Establish and maintain productive supplier relationships.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Analyze pricing proposals and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing and scope details with vendors and subcontractors.
Proposal Development
- Support handoff of awarded projects to operations teams.
- Assist with preparation of competitive bid packages and project proposals.
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within established deadlines.
- Collaborate with project management and operations teams to align estimates with project requirements.
Project Review
- Identify potential conflicts, omissions, and scope gaps.
- Analyze project plans, electrical drawings, and specifications.
- Support value engineering and cost optimization efforts where appropriate.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience evaluating vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Minimum of 6 years of construction estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes.
- Experience using estimating software and electronic takeoff platforms.
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing project estimates.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.
Preferred Skills:
- MEP estimating experience.
- Low-voltage systems estimating experience.
- Commercial electrical construction estimating experience.
- Experience working for an electrical contractor or specialty trade contractor.
- Familiarity with electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, branch circuits, feeders, and related infrastructure.
