The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer (Experienced or Lead) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Lead Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

Experienced (Level 3)

  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.

  • Supports the development, maintenance, or modification of system, component, and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.

  • Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Contributes to supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.

  • Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation.

  • Trains others.

  • Works under general direction.

Lead (Level 4)

  • Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems to establish the system design.

  • Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements.

  • Lead the development, maintenance, or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation.

  • Lead technical meetings and planning efforts, presenting technical information to wide range of audiences.

  • Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.

  • Prioritize, delegate, and track performance and documentation of analyses of fluid systems/mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design.

  • Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts.

  • Train and coach others.

  • Work under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

  • 3+ years of experience with mechanical systems.

  • 3+ years of experience with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems.

  • 3+ years of experience with basic aerodynamics/fluid mechanics principles.

  • 1+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: 5+ years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher

  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications

  • Experience performing hydraulic / fluid system analysis, preferably using MATLAB and/or Easy5 software

  • 3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA

  • Experience producing technical reports and presentations

  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills

  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods

  • Experience working with cross functional teams

  • Experience with Model Based Development tools

Summary Pay Range

Experienced (Level 3): $96,060 - $129,950

Lead level (Level 4): $118,150 – 159,850

Oklahoma Tax Credit: 

If you have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Oklahoma and are not currently working in the aerospace sector in Oklahoma, you may qualify for a $5000 tax credit from the state of Oklahoma for up to five years.  Click here for more information on the tax credit.
