What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Coordinate design and integration of engine, transmission or battery harness. Â
Utilize Engineering tools and processes to successfully develop routing, select wire guages, connectors, terminals, attachments, coverings and design channels, brackets and/or grommets, as needed.  Additionally, collaborate with other engineers to ensure harness is functional and meets requirements.
Effectively achieve program milestones by thorough and rigorous program management, administering and coordinating programs and advising management.Â
Has knowledge and understanding of aspects of automotive wiring or harness, you will provide engineering judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of automotive wiring.
Conduct technical design reviews and initiate applicable drawing reviews
Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Complete and review DFMEAs and DRBFMs for all parts / design changesÂ
Demonstrate designs meet requirements by analysis, development, and validationÂ
Execute and support Peer Reviews per program milestones
Work with component suppliers to meet program imperatives (Quality, Cost and Timing)Â Â
Work as part of a diverse team supporting component development including mechanical design, thermal/structural/ and electrical analysisÂ
Work with manufacturing to ensure build ability and to resolve quality requirementsÂ
Provide Program Management and execution of deliverables and program team meetingsÂ
Work with component suppliers to meet design and timing objectivesÂ
You will perform multiple tasks. Lead and likely direct the work of others as a PDT Leader
Travel - Domestic & International, about 10-15%
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in EngineeringâŻ- Electrical, MechanicalÂ
3+ years' of engineering experienceâŻÂ
Understanding of engineering theoryâŻÂ
High level of analytical ability where problems are complexâŻÂ
Time management skills to meet agreed upon customer deliverables, able to manage multiple projectsâŻÂ
Proficient computer skills including analyzing data, creating presentationsâŻÂ
Interpersonal styles and communication skills to work effectively with local and international team membersâŻÂ
Technical writing ability to create written engineering evaluation reportsâŻÂ
Ability to read, interpret and generate engineering drawings and specificationsâŻÂ
Familiarity with CAD and CAEâŻÂ
Ability to travel
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Masterâs degree in Engineering
Experience with Power and Signal Distribution System (PSDS)
Experience with designing & releasing a partâŻÂ
5+ yearsâ experience with a major automotive OEMâŻÂ
Understanding of GD&T principlesâŻÂ
Experience with âbuild to printâ parts â or â experience writing specifications and managing suppliers with âbuild to specâ partsâŻÂ
Experience with structural, thermal NVH analysis toolsâŻÂ
Experience managing suppliers on critical timelinesâŻÂ
Design for Six Sigma CertificationâŻÂ
Experience with Unigraphics NXâŻÂ
