Our Summer internship program is a full-time, 12-week summer position from May through August 2027. As an intern, you’ll receive an exciting opportunity to acquire relevant work experience and work alongside our best and brightest. HVAC CONSTRUCTION SERVICE INTERNSHIP
The HVAC Construction Service Intern will be exposed to a comprehensive learning experience, gaining practical knowledge in Service Operations, Project Coordination, Account Management, and Customer Service.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Service Operations:
- Learn and gain knowledge from the Service side of Mechanical, TAB, HVAC, Controls, and Plumbing Contracting.
- Assist Operations Managers, Project Managers, Sales Account Managers and Estimators with their daily job duties within an assigned region.
- Collaborate with Field Leadership and the Central Support Services team to ensure the timely scheduling and completion of service requests.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of service activities and customer interactions.
Project Management:
- Gain hands-on experience in project set-ups, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Attend and participate in kick-off meetings for projects.
- Work on project proposals, scope reviews, and project progress tracking.
- Foster and strengthen existing customer relationships.
- Assist in securing new maintenance contracts through active participation in proposal development.
Sales and Account Management:
- Gain insights on how to identify and pursue new business opportunities, securing new sales contracts and projects.
- Learn how to maintain and nurturing long-term relationships with existing clients.
- Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks or issues, and implementing corrective actions.
Education:
- Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, business, or construction.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, business, or construction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Passion for the mechanical service industry.
Physical and/or travel demands:
- No travel required.
- Frequent sitting required – use of computer keyboard/monitor, telephone required. Occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting (e.g., file boxes). Must work well under pressure of time constraints.
Benefits and Compensation:
- The range for this position has been established at $18 to $23 per hour and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
