General Description:
- The GSE Mechanic will maintain a diverse fleet of Aviation Ground Support Equipment, (AGSE, GSE). The mechanic follows written procedures for ordering, receiving, issuing, maintaining, inventorying equipment, and property. Must be familiar with all HAZMAT procedures such as SDS sheets, issue and receipt, verification, manufacture, and expiration dates, and turn-in procedures.
- Performs Maintenance and repair of all Ground Support Equipment. Inspects GSE to determine whether repairs are needed. Troubleshoots issues or problems with vehicles and machinery as necessary to make repairs. Schedule Periodic maintenance for GSE onboard Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC.
Duties:
- Maintains Government furnished tool inventories, other government property and furnishings, contractor owned equipment, and employer owned property inventory
- Issues and returns to storage all tools and special
- Engraves, etches, tags or marks tools and equipment as
- Inputs data to maintain inventory and related contract accountability requirements.
- Visually inspects tools and equipment for wear and or defects and worn-out equipment. Makes minor/ major repairs as required, authorized, or
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and Tool Control rules and
- Repair and service tow tractors, trucks, and service vehicles
- Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery
- Inspects ground support vehicles and equipment to determine whether repairs are needed
- Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment
- Troubleshoots issues or problems with vehicles and machinery as necessary to make repairs
- Schedules periodic maintenance for ground support vehicles and equipment
- Maintains a clean and safe work area
- Tracks Inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance
- Maintains repair logs for all vehicles and equipment
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair GSE
- Performs other related duties as required.

Education / Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) years of GSE maintenance experience
- Familiar with all publications relevant to the maintenance of the GSE appropriate to the assignment and have a thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of the equipment/systems.
- Possess a thorough understanding or become familiar and proficient with NALCOMIS OOMA automated maintenance documentation system within 90 days of employment.
- MATMEP Level III / T &R level 3000 (applicable systems) or greater for GSE, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Preferred additional qualifications: Towing; A/M42-2A Light Cart; A/S32A-45 Tow Tractor; Flight Line Utility Vehicles.
