Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-5. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position. Utilizes available computer software (including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and graphics) in preparing memoranda, letters, reports, charts, forms and other material from rough drafts, oral instructions and handwritten notes. Serves as a consultant and reference source to other clerks in answering questions encountered in their work. Also serves as consultant to supervisor of the unit. Prepares transmittals of approved tax refund claims to Financial Management Division (FMD) for processing.

Your assessment results will provide a rating that places you into one of three quality categories: Category A (highest quality), Category B (well-qualified), or Category C (qualified). Your category placement determines if you'll be referred to the hiring manager. Your application may be reviewed by a Subject Matter Expert. Following the completion of program requirements, selectees may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career-conditional or term appointment. All conversion requirements will be identified in the Participant Agreement.
