Duties
As a Lead International Economist, you will perform the following duties: Analyzes international trade and economic issues and evaluates policy recommendations for their effects on U.S. trade policies and initiatives. Provides technical, statistical and analytical assistance to Industry and Analysis and other units in the International Trade Administration. Prepares international trade and economic background and briefing materials for senior executive officials to use in policy development and promulgation. Produces, analyzes, and publishes economic information and reports that are clear, accurate, and technically sound to support agency programs, policy development, and informed decision-making. Represents the agency by conducting presentations and briefings for senior officials, interagency partners, and external stakeholders. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Lead International Economist GS-0110-15, FPL GS-15 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Requirements
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. This position requires a SECRET CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position. You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs. Qualifications and evaluation
Under the provisions of the Direct-Hire Authority (DHA), rating, ranking and veterans' preference does not apply.
