Duties
The purpose of this position is to serve as the Director for the USCP Howard C. Liebengood Center for Wellness (LCW). The LCW Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a holistic wellness and resiliency program in support of the USCP workforce. The Director serves as an advisor to the Executive Team and oversees the management and coordination of a comprehensive suite of wellness programs. This includes direction and oversight of programs that support physical, mental, financial and nutritional health management; peer support; spiritual guidance; and employee assistance for the Department’s sworn and professional staff employees. The Director ensure the successful operations of the LCW. The incumbent will plan and organize assignments and delegate responsibility to subordinate supervisors to accomplish Center and Department priorities. The Director will effectively develop and implement long-range strategic plans to ensure continuously available and effective employee assistance and Wellness programs that address the mental and physical well-being of a diverse workforce, and to ensure USCP's readiness for normal and emergency operations. The incumbent accomplishes the overall management of day-to-day operations through a staff of team leads and specialists and directs efforts to ensure that daily operations are executed and implemented appropriately and in a timely manner. The Director analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of Center objectives and ensures that all programs are in compliance with established federal, state, and industry standards and requirements. The incumbent will establish rapport and maintain relationships with outside professionals working in the fields of physical health promotion, quality of life, work-life integration, risk reduction, peer support, mental health and trauma recovery. The Director will be required to attend and participate in hearings, meetings, conferences, and other forums as requested to deliver status reports, communicate priorities, give program updates, and present new ideas to stakeholders. Other duties may be assigned as necessary in support of the Department’s operational mission.
Requirements
You must be a U.S. citizen. Successful completion of a background investigation is required. Must complete a one-year probationary period.

Applicants must not be in default or delinquent on any Federal guaranteed student loans. Applicants must demonstrate a competent financial history. Financial delinquency including collection accounts, liens, repossessions, or garnishments may be a basis for disqualification. Background Investigation -- Must successfully complete all components of the USCP full field background investigation. There are few automatic grounds for rejection in the USCP background investigation process. Issues of misconduct, such as illegal drug use, arrests, or convictions, may not be automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements, omissions, or intentionally withholding required information at any phase of the hiring process will result in a candidate's disqualification regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatement or omission. The primary reason candidates fail a background investigation is due to deliberately withholding or omitting material facts. Providing false and/or misleading information may be grounds for removal from the application and selection process.
