Group Leader - Quality

Job Description

Job Summary**

Lead and manage a team within Quality Operations, ensuring adherence to General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) principles and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. This role focuses on optimizing quality performance and achieving operational excellence. Quality Operations Group Leader is responsible for maintaining all end of line quality processes while working with Operations team to achieve schedule, in a safe work environment.

Job Responsibilities**

* Supervise and mentor a team of UAW-represented Tradespeople, providing guidance and fostering a culture of high performance and problem-solving with Safety as our overriding priority.
* Implement and enforce GMS principles and methodologies across all assigned manufacturing processes to ensure consistent safety & quality standards.
* Lead the feedback of quality data, assist in identifying root causes of defects, and implement and track corrective and preventive actions.
* Collaborate with Operations, Quality Engineering, Engineering Program Teams, Launch Managers and other cross-functional teams to uncover and correct quality problems while producing quality vehicles for validation and production customers.
* Develop, implement and enforce standardized work procedures
*Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external quality standards and regulations.
* Participate in new product launch activities, ensuring quality readiness and smooth transitions.

Job Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in a manufacturing or quality role, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
* Strong understanding and practical application of General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) principles.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite or equivalent tools required to track efficiency and communicate ideas.
