Job Description
The Role
What is the Command Center?Â
- The Command Center serves as the highest level of escalation when a supplier is at risk of impacting GM production <1 week outÂ
- The Command Center works with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate conference calls where coordination of critical parts shipments and allocation between multiple plants/programs occurs, among other things.Â
What You’ll Do
- Lead recovery process for assigned Command Center cases with appropriate GM functional staff and Assembly/Metal Centers.Â
- Work with other coordinators managing critical supply issues that come into the NASO Command CenterÂ
- Must have some flexibility and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution. Flexibility to include rotation of short-term working off shift hours from homeÂ
- Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate with leadership.Â
- Develop and lead complex flow plans for supplier performance tracking and plant allocation of critical parts.Â
- Will be using MGO, Web-focus and various other tools to analyze supply chain status and develop countermeasures when necessary.Â
- Complete ad-hoc projects as the need arise including Holiday supplier work plans, premium reduction initiatives and late/increased production changesÂ
- Must be able to manage very complex & stressful supply issues to resolution with goal to eliminate/minimize plant disruptions and reduce premium transportationÂ
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program management, manufacturing or logistics Â
- High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex.Â
- High level of oral and written communication skillsÂ
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.Â
- Ability to balance multiple assignments.Â
- Computer skills and knowledge with understanding of (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)Â
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field.
- Master's degree in supply chain management, Business, or related advanced degree a plusÂ
- Production Control & Logistics ExperienceÂ
- Proficient in MGOÂ
- Material system knowledgeÂ
- Purchasing system knowledgeÂ
- Skilled in managing projects.Â
- Planning and interpersonal abilitiesÂ
- Ability to work independently and self-directed.Â
- Plant ExperienceÂ
