THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Team Lead to lead a team of hourly Instrumentation Technicians supporting our manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and timely execution of instrumentation, calibration, troubleshooting, and predictive maintenance activities across the site.

The Instrumentation Team provides 24/7 support for critical operations through calibration, tuning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems. The Team Lead will play a key role in developing talent, improving reliability, and ensuring that calibration and asset management programs support operational excellence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Instrumentation Technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize, coordinate, and manage daily and long-term workload to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Onboard, train, and mentor new team members while supporting career development and succession planning.
  • Establish and execute the instrumentation strategy to ensure all required calibrations, inspections, and certifications are completed on time and in compliance with site requirements.
  • Ensure calibration service plans are established, maintained, and documented for all applicable instrumentation and equipment.
  • Coordinate and document calibration activities while maintaining calibration records and standards.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of instrumentation and control system issues.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and project teams to ensure new assets and capital projects are properly integrated into calibration and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Drive reliability improvements through predictive maintenance practices and data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and cross-functional partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading maintenance, instrumentation, controls, or technical teams or projects in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems associated with high-speed manufacturing, filling, or packaging equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting knowledge of plant equipment and utilities, including pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems, PLCs, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
  • Experience with calibration and instrument maintenance programs.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or a similar computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of instrumentation, controls, or industrial maintenance leadership experience.
  • Experience with instrumentation calibration, certification, and management of critical process equipment.
  • Knowledge of process controls, PID loops, and loop tuning.
  • Experience with analog signal setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation platforms, including RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication networks and protocols, including DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, HART, IO-Link, and Foundation Fieldbus.
  • Experience implementing predictive maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Prior experience in a liquid manufacturing, processing, or packaging facility.

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
