Our Seattle Return to Work program will run from January 18, 2027 through May 7, 2027 in our Seattle office. This 16-week paid program places participants in roles that align with their existing expertise while also broadening their horizons through comprehensive training, mentorship, and professional development.

Operations Analyst - Parametric — Return to Work Candidates

Parametric is part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, the asset management division of Morgan Stanley. We partner with advisors, institutions, and consultants to build portfolios focused on what is important to them and their clients. A leader in custom solutions for more than 30 years, we help investors access efficient market exposures, solve implementation challenges, and design multi-asset portfolios that respond to their evolving needs. We also offer systematic alpha and alternative strategies to complement clients' core holdings.

This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office three days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Operations Department at Parametric is comprised of skilled professionals responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of the firm's end-to-end operational processes. The team plays a critical role in supporting business functions by aligning daily production activities with broader organizational objectives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Operations Analyst role is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in investment management and financial operations. This position offers broad exposure to the operational side of the business and provides a solid foundation for future growth within financial services.

As an Operations Analyst, you may work within teams across the Client Relations Group, Market Operations, and related Operations functions. These teams support key client and operational processes, including onboarding, oversight, billing, new account activities, client service, trade settlement, portfolio reconciliation, and corporate actions.

This role is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, analytical, process-driven, and comfortable working with high volumes of data under deadlines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and other key points of contact in a professional and responsive manner.

  • Research and resolve issues quickly, accurately, and with appropriate urgency.

  • Communicate regularly with internal and external contacts to resolve issues, confirm information, and provide status updates.

  • Collect observations and help translate them into actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • Complete daily assigned operations transactions, which may include cash or position reconciliation, trade posting, processing market events, new account setup, and account activity recording.

  • Perform verification checks on similar work completed by others to help ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure thorough and accurate record keeping and maintenance of client records and files.

  • Maintain metrics, data, and related operational reporting as needed.

  • Support ad hoc work, projects, and team priorities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred, with a concentration in Data Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related area of study; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to manage high volumes of data under tight deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Detail-oriented and process driven, with a strong focus on accuracy.

  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.

Opportunities across various teams, including:

Market Operations Teams

Trade Settlement

  • Identify problems that could delay the timely settlement of trades via trade confirmation review, failed trade reports, and clear communications with portfolio management, trading counterparties and custodians.

Portfolio Reconciliation

  • Perform problem solving activities via daily cash and position reconciliations between internal systems and various forms of custodians including banks, clearing brokers and counterparties.

Corporate Actions

  • Work with corporate action vendors and custodians to monitor the impact of corporate actions on client accounts.  This includes dividends, mergers, stock splits and spin-offs; The timely and accurate capture of corporate actions is critical to successful portfolio management.

Oversights

  • Conduct reviews, oversight, and audit controls targeting high-risk matters that affect portfolio management, compliance, market operations, and client reporting teams.

Client Relations + Billing Teams

Client Activities

  • Provide functional support to portfolio managers, traders, and portfolio administrators for Parametric portfolios and order management systems; ensuring daily activities, including client transactions, account maintenance, portfolio data reconciliation, and portfolio implementations are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

New Account Activities

  • Establish prospect accounts in Parametric’s portfolio accounting system (APX) for our portfolio managers to run optimizations on the client securities and cash.

Onboarding

  • Responsible for ensuring daily new account onboarding activities, including verifying all account documentation is received and properly submitted for archiving, working with activity management teams on new account funding, setting up account feeds and other client activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Oversight

  • Perform verification checks on team's data entries to ensure accurate processing of information prior to daily trading deadlines, ensuring all account documentation is received and properly submitted for archiving

Billing

  • Understand billing attributes and client relationships that drive revenue accrual and client invoicing and review of new accounts, changed accounts, and terminated accounts

Program Duration: Return to Work programs will run for approximately 16 weeks from January 18, 2027 to May 7, 2027.

Eligibility Criteria: This program is designed for individuals who have been out of the workforce for two or more years. The two-year eligibility requirement will be calculated as of the January 2027 program start date.

Return to Work Program Compensation: Expected base pay rate during the 16-week Return to Work Program is $28.85 per hour (annualized at $60,000).

Salary range for the position: $28.85 and $28.85 per hour. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
