Headquarters: Remote URL: https://www.toptal.com/ About the Role We're looking for a Senior Brand Strategist to lead brand positioning, go-to-market strategy, and communications direction for high-visibility clients and initiatives. This is a strategic leadership role, not execution support — you'll define the brand narrative, guide cross-functional teams, and act as the senior strategic voice clients rely on for fast-moving, high-stakes engagements. Many engagements in this space run as short, intensive strategy sprints, so you'll need to move quickly from discovery to a clear, actionable strategy. What You'll Do Lead brand positioning and go-to-market strategy development for new products, markets, or brand relaunches Define brand narrative, messaging architecture, and communications strategy across channels Act as the senior strategic lead on client engagements, often within compressed timelines (e.g., 2–4 week strategy sprints) Guide and align cross-functional teams (creative, growth, communications) around a unified brand strategy Advise on brand consistency, positioning risk, and competitive differentiation Present strategic recommendations directly to client leadership and senior stakeholders Oversee account-level strategy and communications direction for complex, multi-stakeholder engagements What You Bring Extensive, expert-level experience in brand strategy, brand marketing, or communications strategy Track record leading brand positioning or GTM strategy for recognizable brands or complex organizations Experience operating as a senior strategic lead or account director in an agency or consulting context Strong executive presence and the ability to present and defend strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders Ability to move quickly from discovery to a clear strategic deliverable under tight timelines Comfort leading and aligning cross-functional teams without direct authority Nice to Have Industry-specific experience matching the client vertical (industrial/B2B, consumer hardware, financial services) International market experience for clients operating outside the US Experience with recurring or renewing strategic engagements for the same client Why This Role Strategic ownership: Define brand direction at the highest level, not just execute against a brief High-caliber engagements: Work with clients who value senior strategic input and compensate accordingly Fast-paced, high-impact work: Short, intensive strategy sprints with real visibility and influence Executive access: Direct engagement with client leadership and senior stakeholders How to Apply Ready to lead brand strategy for high-visibility engagements?
