Duties
WHO IS FINANCE AND MANAGEMENT (F&M)? F&M supports the administrative, financial, and managerial programs of the Office of Chief Counsel and provides advice to the Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel on all management matters for the organization nationwide. F&M also has field responsibility for all administrative functions and personnel across the country. The Department of the Treasury's Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government. Following the completion of program requirements, selectees may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career-conditional or term appointment. All conversion requirements will be identified in the Participant Agreement. Program requirements include but are not limited to: Successful completion of at least 1-year of continuous service; Completion of at least 40 hours of interactive training; Demonstration of successful job performance; and Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Recent Graduate may be converted. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position. Serve as the focal point for coordinating and administratively handling more complex or unique calls and/or correspondence concerning the legal support work provided to the different functional areas. Monitor workflows through the office and the staff's efficiency in achieving their work goals, perform analysis, and recommend viable solutions such as workload redistribution and revised work processes and procedures to resolve problems of a procedural nature. Monitor the work of the legal assistants in the office to serve, as needed, as a back-up so that information is being properly inputted into office related systems and that reports are correctly and timely generated and distributed. Coordinate the overall mail operation of the Office. Review incoming mail and, as appropriate, establish administrative controls on certain items.

Referral: This announcement uses the Rule of Many, a numerical ranking process under which eligible applicants receive a numeric score based on the assessment process for the position. Only applicants who are eligible for veterans' preference receive 5- or 10-point veterans' preference points, which are added to passing scores, as applicable. Applicants are then listed on the certificate in score order, and preference-eligible applicants are listed ahead of non-preference eligibles with the same score. Qualified preference eligibles with a compensable service-connected disability of 10 percent or more are listed at the top of the certificate in rating order.
