Duties

As a Military and Family Readiness Specialist, GS-0301-09, you will serve as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) for the Army National Guard to maximize retention and readiness. Manage and operate family assistance center and provide assistance to commands within geographical area of responsibility in support of the SFRP. Provides information resource referral and non-medical administrative case management across all essential services; including but not limited to, Crisis, Legal, Financial, TRICARE, ID Cards/DEERS, Community Information and Outreach Services, Employment/Financial Literacy, Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC) and Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP). Provide training and technical support to Commanders and Family Readiness Liaisons to support their Unit Family Readiness program and Soldier & Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs). Submit information to support development and budget forecasting to support the Soldier and Family Readiness Support Program to higher headquarters. Perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants claiming Priority Placement Program, DoD MR and NG Preference Eligible Tech Receiving Disability Retirement must submit the following documentation: - Military Reserve and Technician Disability PPP Self Certification Checklist (DD 3145-2) - Termination SF-50 Separation stating that the applicant has Priority Placement Eligibility - Notice of Separation confirming of eligibility. Applicant claiming Priority Placement Program, DoD Retained Grade Employees must submit the following documentation: -DoD Retained Grade Self Certification Checklist (DD 3145-1) - SF-50 effecting the placement in retained grade status - Copy of the notification letter the employee received (RIF or classification downgrade) Applicants claiming Priority Placement Program, Military Spouse Preference must submit the following documentation: - DoD Military Spouse Preference Self Certification Checklist (DD 3145-4) - Sponsor's PCS Orders - Proof of Military member's current active duty status - Marriage Certificate Veterans Preference (Applicants must submit documentation for Veterans Preference. If no documents are provided the agency cannot establish Veterans Preference and will not be given preference.) If you are claiming veterans' preference, please submit the following documents. Please see Feds Hire Vets for detail. a. Veterans claiming 5 point veterans' preference must submit legible copy of your DD214(s) that indicates the Character of Service at discharge. 5-point preference will not be granted if appropriate documentation is not submitted with your application. b. 30% Disabled Veterans must submit legible copy of your DD214(s) that indicates the Character of Service at discharge, and VA Disability Letter with percentage of disability OR documentation of disability determination from a branch of the Armed Forces which reflects a compensable service-connected disability of 30% or more. c. Other 10-point Preference Eligibles must submit legible copy of your DD214(s) that indicates the Character of Service at discharge and provide documentation of your other 10-point preference. If claiming 10 point preference, you must provide required documentation described on the back of the SF-15 which proves that you are entitled to such preference. 10-point preference will not be granted if appropriate documentation is not submitted with your application. d. If you are a current active-duty military member who does not have a DD214 and is claiming preference under the Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) Act, you must submit certification from the Armed Forces indicating that you will be discharged or released under honorable conditions from active duty within 120 days from the date on the certification. Certifications must be on letterhead from the appropriate military branch and include the following information: military dates of service and expected discharge or release date, character of service, military rank, type of discharge and date when terminal leave will begin. Certifications must be signed by, or by direction of military members' military personnel offices, unit commanders or higher headquarters. These documents must be submitted for your application to be considered complete. If you do not submit all the above referenced documents your application WILL NOT be forwarded to the nominating official. If, after reviewing your resume and/or supporting documentation, a determination is made that you have inflated your qualifications and/or experience, your application can and will be disqualified. Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e., retired under section 8336(d)(1) or 8414(b)(1)(A) of title 5 United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate.
