Our Unique Work:   

The Supervision Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) supervises banks in the Second District. TheĀ objectivesĀ of supervision are to:Ā 

  • Evaluate and promote the overall safety and soundness of supervised institutionsĀ 

  • Ensure supervised institutions’ compliance with relevant laws and regulationsĀ 

  • Facilitate the stability of the financial system of the United StatesĀ 

  • Support the growth and stability of the U.S. economyĀ 

Supervision is carried out through a combination of methods, including on-site and off-site examinations involving staff dedicated to the supervision of an individual firm and other professionals focused on analytical, policy and risk matters. Supervision is coordinated with other US agencies.Ā 

The SupervisionĀ GroupĀ at FRBNYĀ is responsible forĀ theĀ day-to-day supervisionĀ ofĀ GloballyĀ SystemicallyĀ ImportantĀ Banks,Ā Large and Foreign Banking Organizations, Regional and Community Banking OrganizationsĀ andĀ Financial Market UtilitiesĀ that are based in the Second District. TheĀ supervisoryĀ teamsĀ execute examinations,Ā monitoring, and analysisĀ in coordination withĀ staffs ofĀ the Board of Governors,Ā otherĀ Reserve Banks,Ā and otherĀ domestic and international agencies.Ā Supervision staffĀ developĀ aĀ deepĀ understanding of the safety and soundness of the firmsĀ andĀ the broader banking industry;Ā recommend supervisory plans and ratings;Ā and execute examinations,Ā monitoringĀ events and financial analysis. SupervisorsĀ focus their workĀ onĀ risks includingĀ Capital, Governance and Controls, Liquidity, Resolution and Recovery; and the overallĀ financial and operational resiliency of theĀ firms’ and theĀ broaderĀ financial system.     

How You’ll Make an Impact:Ā 

  • Maintain deep knowledge of theĀ firms and industryĀ strategy, risk profile, governance, risk management,Ā and control functions via monitoring,Ā analysis,Ā and examination activities.Ā 

  • Contribute toĀ theĀ development of supervisory priorities andĀ supervisory plansĀ needed to assess core risks and make well-supported recommendations.Ā 

  • Develop andĀ present examinationĀ and analyticalĀ results toĀ aĀ range ofĀ stakeholders and supervised institutions.Ā 

  • Collaborate and build relationships withĀ Bank, Federal ReserveĀ SystemĀ and Interagency partners toĀ develop supervisory responsesĀ to,Ā and analysisĀ ofĀ inherent and emerging risks.Ā 

  • HelpĀ identifyĀ andĀ address emerging risks to supervised firms, the financial system,Ā and financial stability.Ā 

The Unique Skill Sets We’re Looking For:   

  • Ability to take on a leading role on examinations at financial institutions and/or an ability and willingness to learn about complex regulations, including supervisory expectations and findings.Ā 

  • Supervisory or industry experienceĀ in Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML).Ā 

  • ExtensiveĀ expertiseĀ inĀ BSA/AMLĀ and sanctions compliance frameworks, withĀ demonstratedĀ ability to evaluate financial crimes at large, complex banking organizations.Ā 

  • Deep knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations, along with proven experience conducting compliance assessments across diverse lines of business, products, and services.Ā Ā 

  • Excellent project management, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.Ā

Salary Range: $164200 -Ā $242200
