Job Description
Risk & Compliance Technology
At U.S. Bank, we're on a journey to build modern, customer-focused technology solutions that strengthen risk management, compliance, and operational resilience. We are seeking a Portfolio Manager / Agile Coach who will help drive strategic initiatives while enabling teams to adopt and mature agile ways of working.
This role blends portfolio management, agile coaching, delivery leadership, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable partnering with senior executives on investment planning and governance as they are coaching delivery teams to improve flow, predictability, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Leadership & Governance
- Partner with Technology, Product, Risk, and Compliance leaders to manage strategic investment portfolios and technology roadmaps.
- Support annual planning, investment approvals, forecasting, and financial management activities.
- Monitor portfolio health, dependencies, risks, and delivery outcomes across multiple initiatives and teams.
- Facilitate executive reviews, roadmap discussions, prioritization sessions, and governance forums.
- Drive transparency through portfolio metrics, reporting, capacity planning, and performance measurement.
- Support technology investment decisions by analyzing financial, resource, and delivery impacts.
Agile Coaching & Delivery Excellence
- Coach teams, leaders, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Lean delivery practices, and product-centric operating models.
- Facilitate key agile ceremonies including planning, retrospectives, reviews, dependency management, and quarterly planning activities.
- Help teams improve delivery predictability, quality, and customer outcomes through continuous improvement practices.
- Identify and remove organizational impediments that limit team effectiveness.
- Partner with Product Managers, Technology Leaders, and Business Partners to align priorities and outcomes.
- Promote agile metrics and data-driven decision making to improve flow and value delivery.
Strategic Planning & Transformation
- Support multi-year technology planning and roadmap development.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to align resources, funding, and delivery approaches with business priorities.
- Drive organizational change initiatives supporting modernization, regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with workforce planning, vendor management, budgeting, and resource optimization activities.
- Enable successful execution of major transformation programs across Risk and Compliance domains.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with executives, business leaders, product owners, and technology teams.
- Communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate alignment across teams with competing priorities and dependencies.
- Influence without authority while fostering collaboration and accountability.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Risk, Compliance, Fraud, AML, GRC, Regulatory, Audit, or operational risk technology initiatives.
- Strong financial management and technology investment planning experience.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar portfolios and technology roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to coach teams and leaders through organizational transformation.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Clarity, Azure DevOps, or similar planning and delivery tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory and control requirements within the financial services industry.
- Agile certifications (SAFe, SPC, ICP-ACC, CSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and executive communication skills.

Location expectations:
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
