Duties

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to lead three or more employees who install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must also possess the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Leads a team (minimum of three mechanics) and works beside others performing Electronic Integrated Systems maintenance duties. Directs on-equipment or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft, and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Education

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: The mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Normally moderate to high physical effort is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasional objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds. Required to stoop, bend, stand, and work in close quarters. Some assignments require climbing on items. Wears and utilizes required safety devices and equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside at various locations and in all kinds of weather. Subject to cuts and bruises from use of hand and power tools and to electrical shock. MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2.
