The Material Handler & Quality Control Associate is responsible for supporting warehouse, production, inventory, and quality operations by ensuring the accurate movement, storage, inspection, and shipment of materials and finished goods. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production schedules, meeting quality standards, and ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.
Job Responsibilities:
Material Handling & Inventory Control
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Safely load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Stage materials and components to support production schedules and work orders.
- Transport raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Perform inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and storage locations.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices where applicable.
Production Support
- Supply production areas with materials and components needed to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Kit materials and prepare production orders for manufacturing.
- Return unused materials to inventory and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, assembly, and other production support activities as required.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of material shortages.
- Collaborate with production personnel to ensure continuous workflow and minimize downtime.
Shipping & Receiving
- Prepare, package, and label customer shipments according to company and customer requirements.
- Create shipping labels, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments with freight carriers and parcel services.
- Schedule freight pickups and deliveries.
- Verify shipment accuracy prior to shipment.
- Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain shipping records and documentation.
- Assist with freight claims, returns, and shipment tracking activities.
Quality Control & Inspection
- Inspect incoming materials, components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications.
- Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, rulers, and micrometers.
- Verify product specifications, documentation, and material certifications.
- Conduct in-process inspections during production to identify potential quality issues.
- Perform final inspections prior to shipment to ensure product quality and accuracy.
- Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials and products.
- Segregate and properly handle rejected or non-conforming materials.
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Assist in root cause investigations related to quality concerns.
- Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
- Ensure traceability requirements are met for materials and finished goods.
Warehouse Operations
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse and production areas.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, identified, and stored.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Assist with warehouse organization and storage layout improvements.
- Cross-train and provide support in multiple warehouse and production functions as needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate material handling equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and equipment concerns immediately.
- Support compliance with company quality systems and operational procedures.
- Participate in safety training and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of warehouse, material handling, inventory control, manufacturing, or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and quality inspection processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and inventory software.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, specifications, and drawings.
- Understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques.
Additional Information:
- This is an on-site opportunity that must be performed from our offices in Hayward, California.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is part of the Teamsters Local 853 union and requires membership.
- Starting pay is $25.61 (After 90-day probation, pay increases to $26.36)
- Shift: 4 x 10-hour days (Mon-Thursday 7:00 a.m. β 5:30 p.m.)

- Must pass background and drug screening
