THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1902000 and is part of the KY USPFO, National Guard.

Duties

As a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER - TITLE 32, WG-6912-7, you will perform examining and identifying duties for the most complex categories of materiel and equipment. Inspect, receive, sort, count, identify, and is knowledgeable of special handling techniques and procedures required for the processing of hazardous and toxic material. Examine clothing, textiles, requiring sensory judgment as well as subjective measurement. Receive or reject materiel, equipment, including non-standard equipment, and complex assemblies for the facility based on their knowledge of products, equipment, and procedures. Schedule the receipt of property and assure that the property is identified to include identification of all contaminants. Determine acceptance, serviceability and distribution requirements for perishable, classified, precious metals, textiles, clothing, complex electronic/mechanical equipment, assemblies and components. Perform extensive research on equipment specifications using automated systems, technical manuals and supply bulletins to determine any special requirements for complex items passing through the storage and distribution area. Assure adherence to storage compatibility and determines the need for special handling/storage of certain property. Perform research of complex shipping and storage records, and commercial vendor contracts. Perform a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, inspecting for defects, storing, selecting and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. Determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, and space utilization plans, as regards to hazardous material, in accordance with regulations for a specific commodity or equipment group. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

Military Grades: E1 - E7 RANK REQUIREMENT: Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
