Job Title: Operations Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-Time / Hourly
Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking an organized and safety‑focused Operations Supervisor to support daily warehouse and transportation operations. Working under the direction of the Director of Warehousing & Safety, this role assists in coordinating staff, managing workflows, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. The ideal candidate brings strong supervisory skills, operational insight, and the ability to balance hands‑on oversight with planning and analysis while supporting Goodwill's mission of creating opportunities and strengthening the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily warehouse and transportation operations to support efficient service delivery.
- Support staff scheduling and direct day‑to‑day warehouse and transportation work plans.
- Ensure compliance with all agency policies, procedures, safety standards, and required training requirements.
- Maintain compliance with CARF, Department of Labor, DOT, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Maintain authorized plant layout and efficient workflow to maximize productivity and labor utilization.
- Set employee, fleet, and dock schedules to ensure smooth deliveries and loading for fleet, vendors, salvage buyers, and carriers.
- Support the operation and standard procedures of the Home Pickup program.
- Maintain fleet and equipment maintenance records, including forklifts and warehouse machinery.
- Assist with budgeting and manage requisitioning, inventory, and tracking of materials, supplies, equipment parts, and vendor services.
- Work collaboratively with the Salvage Supervisor to provide departmental coverage as needed.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or year‑for‑year experience substitution required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to coach, train, and evaluate staff through meetings, one‑on‑one sessions, and performance reviews.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret operational data and create standard tracking and management reports.
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and effectively.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules based on operational needs.
