About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager responsible for monitoring the performance of a portfolio of Fannie Mae and World Savings multifamily loans throughout the loan lifecycle, from initial funding through debt satisfaction or transfer to special servicing, in accordance with investor guidelines.


In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the primary relationship contact for borrowers and property management agents, delivering responsive customer service while providing first-line risk management and loan-level due diligence in compliance with investor requirements.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of each assigned loan, including borrower and key principal information, market conditions, property condition, financial performance, occupancy trends, loan document requirements, and applicable servicing agreements.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on property-level operating performance, risk ratings, watchlist status, physical inspection findings, on-site management effectiveness, local market conditions, and lender consent requests.

  • Apply strong financial analysis, commercial real estate, property management, market, mortgage document, legal document, and credit risk analysis skills to support portfolio oversight and risk mitigation.

  • Manage the daily workflow of the assigned portfolio, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and adherence to Fannie Mae, internal risk mitigation, credit, risk, control, and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain current knowledge of Fannie Mae asset management requirements, including the Guide, lender memorandums, emails, and other investor communications, and apply those requirements consistently.

  • Participate in the review, research, and reporting of property performance and support Fannie Mae team projects as needed.

  • Exercise independent judgment to guide medium-risk deliverables, escalate issues appropriately, and recommend practical resolutions within established policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate and consult with Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, borrowers, property managers, and external customers.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Multifamily or Commercial real estate experience, preferably with exposure to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac multifamily asset management, underwriting, or portfolio management.

  • Working knowledge of income-producing real estate, credit analysis, multifamily property operations, and underwriting fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with commercial real estate loan documents and third-party reports, including appraisals, physical needs assessments, and environmental reports.

  • Exposure to commercial real estate securitization documents, pooling and servicing agreements, or related servicing documentation preferred.

  • Exposure to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac multifamily asset management technology tools preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, multitasking, attention to detail, and accuracy skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service communication skills, including the ability to listen, identify customer needs, and recommend practical solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or a related field.

  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$77,000.00 - $121,000.00
