Summary
This position is located in the Division of Clinical Services, Pharmacy Branch, of the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Supervisory Pharmacist, managing clinical pharmacy services, personnel processes, quality improvement programs, and pharmacy operations. Duties
Directs the Pharmacy Program oversees all functions and services of the department. Coordinates written directive addressing decisions and compliance with administrative policies and procedures; creates and updates policies and procedures on a regular basis. Ensures the unit meets all accreditation standards set forth; specially assures that regulatory compliance, infection control measures, pharmacy controls, environment of care and credentialing standards and elements are met. Manages financial and budgetary matters relating to the pharmacy including procurement, acquisition and billing issues. Oversees coordinates, plans, organizers, implements and evaluates the work unit. Provides direct pharmaceutical services to all patients.

Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment. Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is ineligible for the Bargaining Unit. Total Compensation Package - Pharmacist Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized. The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. If privileges are not obtained or maintained during employment, the employee will be subject to adverse actions, up to and including removal from Federal service. Work is performed on regular and assigned basis; however, the incumbent may be required to be on call back duty or required to work beyond normal duty hours to complete assignments or to ensure coverage. At times, change in shifts may be required to meet the workload demands, complete a project/task, or alternate with other Pharmacists in responding to callbacks.
