Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a PT Custodian  to support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sites in Comstock, TX, by performing custodial services, lands and grounds maintenance, and pest control services.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep all non-carpeted floor surface areas, including corners and abutments, of all spills, trash, visible litter, dust, and debris. Move chairs, trash receptacles, and easily movable items to sweep underneath and return them to their original positions.
  • Damp mop and spray buff flooring areas, including corners and abutments, ensuring they are clean and free of dirt, water streaks, rust stains, mop marks, string, gum, grease, tar and all foreign items.
  • Apply a uniform and non-slip floor finish coating, for a glossy appearance free of scuffmarks, heel marks, and other stains and discolorations. Move chairs, trash receptacles, and easily movable items to mop underneath and return to original positions. Remove all splash marks or mop streaks on furniture, walls, baseboards etc.
  • Strip and wax all hard surface floors, applying a new base coat of wax if required including buffing for a finish that is clean, glossy and uniform in all areas. Ensure there is no build-up of wax in corners, at doorstops, or next to carpeted areas.
  • Vacuum all carpet-type entrance (shampoo only if needed to restore resiliency and to maintain color definition). Sweep, vacuum, or hose-down outside rubber or polyester entrance mats. Ensure soil and moisture underneath entrance mats is removed and mats are returned to their normal location.
  • Vacuum carpet, ensuring all areas are free of visible litter, dust and soil. Remove all carpet stains.
  • Shampoo carpet, ensuring all areas are free of spots, stains, and unsavory odors.
  • Empty and return all wastebaskets, cigarette receptacles (ash trays and cans), and other trash containers within the area, including exterior receptacles. Items placed near a trash receptacle marked "TRASH" shall be removed. Replace trash receptacle liners. Secure with bag ties and dispose of trash bags, making sure to pick up any trash that may fall during removal, and place in dumpster on site or an approved/authorized dumpster.
  • Thoroughly dust all surfaces on furniture including cleared desks, chairs, file cabinets, and other furniture, ledges, window sills, and hand rails. Ensure corners, crevices, moldings, and ledges are free of dust.
  • Damp wipe mirrors and both sides of all glass in doors, display cases and adjacent trim, partitions and bookcases and any other glass. Ensure there are no traces of film, dirt, smudges, water, or cloudiness.
  • Clean porcelain or stainless-steel surfaces and drinking fountains.
  • Perform spot cleaning. Use germicidal detergent in restrooms, locker rooms, exercise rooms, break areas, and drinking fountains. Ensure surfaces have a clean, uniform appearance, free of streaks, spots, and other evidence of removed soil.
  • Disinfect all surfaces of partitions, stalls, faces of toilet bowls, urinals, lavatories, showers, dispensers, and other such surfaces, using a germicidal detergent.
  • De-scale toilet bowls and urinals ensuring surfaces are free from streaks, stains, scale, scum, urine deposits, and rust stains.
  • Unclog toilets
  • Re-supply areas with paper supplies and soap.
  • Perform high dusting to include venetian blinds, ceiling fans, and air supply/return vents.
  • Clean interior and exterior window surfaces, ensuring there are no traces of film, dirt, smudges, water.
  • Clean light fixtures, including interior and exterior of the fixtures. Fixtures above typical ceiling height will be cleaned on the High Dusting schedule.
  • Check all interior lighting fixtures including the garage(s) and exterior lighting fixtures, remove and replace any burned out bulbs within 8 hours of occurrence.
  • Clean grounds, landscape beds, driveways, parking areas, and sidewalks, of all items. Outdoor parking areas shall be hosed down to remove caked mud and dirt.
  • Grass shall not be cut while wet. Mow grass in uniform grass height to present a well-groomed appearance at all times. Remove grass cuttings as needed.
  • Apply fertilizer over landscaped areas.
  • Rake and remove leaves
  • Mow all wild grass/weeds areas including retaining water ponds at regular intervals during the year.
  • Weeds on building grounds shall be controlled and eliminated in order to present a neat, well-maintained appearance.
  • Water shrubs, flowerbeds, hedges, trees, and lawn areas.
  • Trim all shrubs, hedges and trees. Provide light trimming of tree limbs.
  • Clean kennel areas, coordinating with K9 personnel to empty the kennel or clean on the next cleaning opportunity.
  • Clean all asphalt and concrete parking lots and driveways of gravel, mud, weeds, leaves, rocks, and other debris. Eliminate weeds growing in cracks and in gravel driveways.
  • Use chemicals and sand to reduce safety hazards due to ice and snow when requested.
  • Service areas including entrances, steps, landings, sidewalks, and any other hard surface areas subject to pedestrian traffic.
  • Remove all excess sand and rock that have accumulated on the sidewalks during the course of the winter.
  • Provide pest control according to the pest management plan which may include the application of pesticides.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Please note that a background check, e-quip, credit check, and drug screening must be passed for this role. The e-quip process can take up to 6 months to finalize. Favorable E-quip results must be in before the candidate is able to start. 
  • Must be able to work the following schedule: 5AM to 2PM, 3 days a week between Monday through Friday 
  • Must be able to Skills and abilities to perform the tasks
