This is Adyen Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.  For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster. About the role: Onboarding is the front door to Adyen. It is the first experience every merchant, platform, and sub-merchant has with our platform, and it sets the trajectory for everything that follows — activation, adoption, and long-term growth. It is also one of the most complex experiences we build: a globally distributed, high-stakes flow that must feel effortless to the customer while satisfying rigorous risk, fraud, and regulatory requirements across every market we operate in. We are looking for a Group Product Manager to own and scale Adyen’s end-to-end onboarding experience — spanning merchant and sub-merchant/platform onboarding worldwide. This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of front-end experience, growth, and regulated financial services. You will own the customer-facing experience and the flows that drive activation, while partnering deeply with Risk, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, and Regulatory teams to ensure everything we ship is trusted, auditable, and acceptable to both our internal stakeholders and external governing bodies. What You’ll Do: Own the Onboarding Experience: Set and execute the strategy for Adyen’s global onboarding surface. Own the front-end experience and API design, continuously optimize the flows that drive activation, conversion, and time-to-value across merchant and sub-merchant journeys. Turn Onboarding into a Growth Engine: Treat onboarding as a primary lever for product-led growth. Use experimentation and data to remove friction, lift conversion, and accelerate how quickly customers reach value. Balance Experience with Trust: Partner closely with Risk, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, and Regulatory teams to design onboarding experiences that are seamless for customers and fully acceptable to internal governance and external regulators. Make pragmatic, well-reasoned trade-offs between frictionless UX and rigorous control. Apply AI to the Product and to How You Work: Bring AI and machine learning into the onboarding experience itself — smarter, faster, more adaptive flows — while operating as an AI-native leader who uses modern tooling to build products and raise the productivity of your team. Build and Develop the Team: Lead, coach, and grow a globally distributed team of product managers across Chicago and Amsterdam. Set high standards for product craft, analytical rigor, and ownership. What Success Looks Like: Within the first 12–18 months, you will have: Established a clear, executable vision for a best-in-class global onboarding experience Measurably improved activation and conversion through disciplined experimentation Shipped onboarding flows that are both customer-loved and fully aligned with risk, fraud, and compliance requirements Introduced AI/ML-driven capabilities that make onboarding smarter and faster Who You Are: Experienced Product Leader: You have 8+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years leading and developing product managers. You have launched and evolved complex products across the full lifecycle. Onboarding & Growth Background: You have worked in onboarding, activation, or a growth function, and you understand how to build and optimize front-end experiences that move core metrics. Regulated-Industry Experience (strongly preferred): You have ideally worked in a regulated industry — financial services, healthcare, insurance, or similar — and are comfortable designing experiences within tight compliance and regulatory constraints. Highly Analytical & Data-Driven: You define the right metrics, run rigorous experiments, and let evidence guide your decisions. High Agency & Growth Mindset: You operate with autonomy and ownership in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, and you continuously push yourself and your team to raise the bar. Exceptional Collaborator: You thrive working across teams and functions, building trust with technical, commercial, risk, and compliance partners, and influencing without direct authority. AI-Native: You have deep, hands-on experience using AI tools to build products and improve how you and your team work, and you know how to apply AI/ML to improve product experiences themselves.
